The Lahore Free Wi-Fi service has been significantly expanded following orders from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aligning with her “Digital Punjab” vision.
In line with the chief minister’s directives, the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service has now been launched at an additional 100 locations throughout Lahore, increasing the total number of access points to 200.
The Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) has spearheaded this expansion, ensuring wider access to free internet across the city.
The newly included locations feature key areas such as Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, and Chuhng. Other areas like Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, and Maraka village are also now part of the service range.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the service’s importance under the “Digital Punjab” initiative, stating, “The emergency free Wi-Fi service is being provided to enhance digital connectivity and safety across the province.”
The “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” service not only offers internet access but also supports public safety measures. Users can connect with police and other emergency services through the network. Additionally, applications such as the Women Safety App, Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp are accessible via the free Wi-Fi service, enhancing communication and security for residents.
With a range extending up to 300 feet from each Wi-Fi point, the service ensures extensive coverage. Users can download various applications and use the internet for activities such as booking taxi rides, facilitating a wide array of daily tasks.
This expansion signifies a substantial step toward achieving a digitally connected Punjab, providing residents with essential digital services and reinforcing public safety infrastructure.
