Punjab CM suggests new bulletproof container for PTI long march

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has ordered foolproof security arrangements for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march from Wazirabad to Rawalpindi.

He stated during a meeting on Tuesday that there would be no compromise on the security of the PTI leadership and participants and that the use of a bulletproof rostrum and glass on the container leading the march should be ensured.

He stated that a new bulletproof container should be constructed. He stated that the Punjab government would provide all possible assistance in this regard.

In a meeting with PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Q leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Moonis Elahi, Umar Ayub, and Hussain Elahi, a proposed security plan for the long march was presented by police officials.

The participants went over the march’s security plans in great detail of March.

The CM gave instructions on how to make sure that there are perfect security arrangements for the marchers in every city from Wazirabad to Rawalpindi.

Snipers, according to him, should be deputed on the rooftops of the buildings in the area. 15,000 personnel should be connected to a control room and stationed there constantly. He continued that in addition to this number, more force should be summoned from other districts to bolster security in Rawalpindi.

The police control room should be operational twenty-four hours a day, according to the chief minister.

Drone cameras should be used to monitor the long march, and two levels of security should be set up, he continued.

He emphasised the need for complete security plans in all areas and the deployment of police and administrative officers to ensure coordination in each district.

He suggested that more police officers be dispatched to Rawalpindi from other districts. The CM commanded that the perpetrators of a man’s threat to kill former prime minister Imran Khan in Hafizabad be prosecuted as well. He concluded, “The police are my team, and I value the sacrifices they make.

Imran Khan had been the target of a murder attack, according to PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and the public had expressed concern and raised questions about why an FIR hadn’t been filed sooner.

He claimed that “everyone” had rejected the registered FIR.

He claimed to respect the sacrifices made by the police. He clarified that in a recent speech, he had expressed concerns about a person rather than criticism of the department.

He continued by saying that Imran Khan had thanked the police twice for Gujranwala’s excellent security arrangements. Every department has both talented and average officers, just like the police. Qureshi asserted that his remarks had been distorted.
