PTI Prepares for Protest in “Container-Sieged” Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready to hold a protest at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi today, as reported by ARY News.

The protest will be led by PTI leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who will address party workers at the Swabi Interchange. Supporters from all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to gather there before heading to Liaquat Bagh.

In anticipation of the protest, extensive security measures have been implemented. The metro bus service has been suspended, and containers have been positioned on roads leading to Liaquat Bagh. Police and security forces are deployed throughout the city to ensure order.

Section 144 Imposed

The Punjab government has enforced Section 144 in Rawalpindi ahead of the PTI’s planned gathering. The notification prohibits all types of gatherings, rallies, protests, and the display of weapons, remaining in effect on September 28 and 29.

This order was issued just a day before the PTI’s scheduled public gathering. Additionally, Section 144 has also been imposed in the neighboring districts of Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
