Protest Erupts in Karachi as Hindus Demand Action on Abduction Cases

Abduction cases

On Monday, the Hindu community, Aurat March, and Civil Society organized a protest demonstration in Karachi against the abduction cases of several Hindu community members in Sindh’s Kashmore district.

Social activists also joined the demonstration. A similar protest had taken place on September 4 at the same location.

Community members expressed their determination to continue the protest until they secure the recovery of Sagar and Priya Kumari, two minority girls abducted from Sindh’s Kashmore district, along with others.

Last week, sit-ins were staged by the community in Kandhkot and Kashmore to demand the recovery of the abducted Hindu community members in Kashmore, including Mukhi Jagdish Kumar, Sagar Kumar, Jaideep Kumar, and Dr. Munir Naij.

Riverine bandits, known locally as “Katcha areas,” abducted these individuals in the border areas of Sindh and Punjab.

On September 5, the Kashmore police reported that they had successfully recovered a third person out of the five abducted individuals.

Last week, Inspector General of Police Riffat Mukhtar Raja provided assurance to members of the Hindu community that they would swiftly recover the kidnapped boy, Sagar Kumar.
