Prime Minister Shehbaz orders shifting of passport offices to NADRA

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the Interior Ministry to shift passport offices to NADRA as early as possible.

PM said that special counters be set up at NADRA offices to provide passports to the citizens without any hassle.

Premier Shehbaz Sharif gave this order while chairing an important meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Premier said that the Passports and NADRA officials should share their resources and pace up the process of provision of passports.

Prime Minister was of the opinion that the shifting of passport offices to NADRA will save money, time, and expedite the process to issue passports.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif also stated that the projects of establishing new passport offices should also be moved to NADRA offices.

PM Shehbaz also directed the NADRA officials to enhance number of mobile vans to reach out to a maximum number of people.

Importantly, NADRA is launching a new mobile phone application which will enable the people to apply for the renewal of their CNICs and other essential documents.

Pakistanis are facing difficulties in getting new passports which involves documentation. It leads to wastage of time and shifting of the passport offices to NADRA will minimize time to process and issue passports to citizens.
