The police have completed the first phase of their investigation regarding Bushra Bibi’s alleged involvement in the protests that took place on May 9. Authorities are now reviewing the findings and preparing to move forward with further inquiries.
Investigators sought clarity on the planning and execution of the protests that occurred on May 9. The Rawalpindi Police have wrapped up the initial phase of their inquiry into Bushra Bibi regarding her alleged involvement in these incidents.
Under the guidance of SP Faisal Saleem, the investigation team visited Adiala Jail, where Bushra Bibi is currently held. Sources indicate that the police questioned her for approximately 30 minutes, with DSP Shazia present during the interrogation. The focus was on her purported role in organizing protests that resulted in arson and other violent acts in Rawalpindi.
The investigators aimed to gather information about how these protests were planned and carried out, particularly those held near sensitive locations.
The investigation team included SP Faisal Saleem, DSP Sikander, DSP Shazia, and other officers such as Inspector Qaiser, Yakub Shah, and Hasnain Ali. Notably, officers involved in the cases related to the attacks on the GHQ gate and Army Museum were also part of this team, underscoring the seriousness of the investigation.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has directed the police to complete their investigation into Bushra Bibi within a week, following the court’s decision to grant her bail on August 12 in 12 separate cases.
