ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is chairing a crucial meeting of the National Security Committee today to evolve a strategy to combat terrorism and overcome economic crisis.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, DG ISI Lt-General Nadeem Anjum are among the key participants of the NSC meeting at PM House on Friday.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and military chiefs are also present in the meeting.
According to media reports, the committee will review the prevailing critical security security, economic crisis and firm up a plan to overcome all kinds threats to Pakistan and its people.
Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum will brief the participants of the meeting about the ongoing terror wave in Pakistan and Pak-Afghan border situation.
The new strategy will be devised in view of the present situation and military leaders observations to tackle the security challenges.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, army chief General Asim Munir called on PM Shehbaz at the PM House. The COAS briefed him on professional as well as national security matters, according to PM Office’s Media Wing statement.
