PM: Govt to Unveil ‘Historic Kissan Package’ Next Week

ISLAMABAD: The “historic” Kissan package for the growth of the agricultural industry will be unveiled, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday.

He claimed in a statement that a ministerial committee had been established under the chairmanship of the interior minister to address the concerns of farmers.

The prime minister, who met separately with several farmer delegations, instructed the committee of relevant ministers to quickly offer ideas that might be put into practise to address the issues facing growers.

In light of the committee’s recommendations and keeping in mind the nation’s current economic condition, the premier expressed his determination to offer the agriculture industry all assistance feasible and to protect producers’ welfare.

In that regard, he also made the announcement that the historic Kissan package will be revealed at the Kissan conference the following week.

The conference was attended by the Punjab Provincial Assembly member Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for National Food Security Tariq Bashir Cheema, and other important senior officials.
