Palestine Solidarity Day
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has officially announced that Pakistan will observe October 7 as Palestine Solidarity Day to reaffirm the country’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people.
This significant decision was made during a high-level meeting held between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.
As part of the observance, an All Parties Conference (APC) will be held, with leaders from across the political spectrum coming together to express Pakistan’s unity in support of Palestine.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and representatives from all major political parties will attend the conference, further highlighting the country’s collective commitment to standing with the Palestinian cause. This event underscores Pakistan’s enduring stance against Israeli aggression and its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people.
In addition to the APC, a committee has been formed to organize a series of events on October 7. The committee, which includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Sherry Rehman, Saad Rafique, and Nayer Bukhari, will oversee the planning and execution of activities aimed at expressing solidarity with Palestine.
Nationwide gatherings, seminars, and rallies are scheduled to take place across various cities in Pakistan, where citizens will gather to condemn Israeli violence and reiterate their support for Palestinian rights.
During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the critical importance of standing in unity against the violence in Gaza, which he described as a threat to regional peace and stability.
He highlighted the need to unite against what he termed “imperialist and Zionist agendas” that have long oppressed the Palestinian people.
Bhutto praised the decision of both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the APC, calling their participation a reflection of their strong commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The meeting also acknowledged the Jamaat-e-Islami’s unwavering stance on supporting the innocent Palestinians suffering under Israeli occupation.
The efforts of Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and his party were praised for their vocal advocacy of Palestinian rights and for consistently showing solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine.
The APC is expected to create a unified platform where all political parties in Pakistan can collaborate and voice their collective stance against the ongoing atrocities in Palestine.
As Pakistan prepares to observe Palestine Solidarity Day, the government aims to send a powerful message of support to the global community, reinforcing its position on the Palestinian issue.
This day will serve as a reminder of Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to the Palestinian struggle for self-determination, freedom, and justice.
With events, speeches, and protests planned throughout the country, the people of Pakistan are expected to come together in a show of solidarity, emphasizing their rejection of Israeli violence and occupation.
