On 6th September, Pakistan’s Defense Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to the Pakistan Monument in Shakarparian, Islamabad. He presented a flower wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada as a tribute to the brave military personnel of Pakistan.
Pakistan is commemorating its 58th Defense and Martyrs Day today (Tuesday) in the honor of the Pakistani Armed forces that fought the battle against India in 1965 in which the adversary suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister’s made a remarkable speech that the entire country salutes its martyrs for their unwavering fortitude and resistance in fighting for their motherland. He added, that when an opponent of greater size crossed an international border at night to assault Pakistan, 57 years ago on this very day, our heroic troops battled valiantly to defend every square mile our country.
The prime Minister in his speech also referred to the martyrdom of the Army Officers and soldiers in a recent helicopter crash during a rescue operation for flood victims in Lasbella, Baluchistan. He further added that the Pakistani Armed Forces would never vacillate to sacrifice their lives for the protection of this homeland.
He also mentioned the unflinching efforts by the armed forces in the wake of devastating floods wreaking havoc in multiple parts of the country. He said that the whole nation is determined and stands alongside the armed forces to fight in unity against this calamity.
