When you think about receiving messages from the dead, psychic mediums performing séances might come to mind, but perhaps this is changing.
Eternal Applications, a web hosting company based in Massachusetts, has launched an “after-life messaging platform,” allowing users to create personalized messages to be delivered to family and friends after they pass away.
According to a news release from Eternal Applications, reported by USA Today, the system uses an administrator to notify the platform when a user has died, triggering the queueing of their messages.
The company aims to provide “peace of mind to users” who want to ensure their legacy, wisdom, or life stories are shared and remembered.
How does it work?
The news release explains that users can utilize “easy-to-use text, video, and audio tools” to record and send messages. They then select the recipient, input the contact information, and choose the delivery date.
When the specified date arrives, Eternal Applications sends the recipient a link to a secure page where they can read, view, or listen to the message and download it to their phone, computer, or tablet.
Chris Jalbert, founder of Eternal Applications, said, “Words fade over time, but creating a message that your loved one can replay or reread as often as they want is priceless.”
