noor mukadam murder: Parents of Zahir Jaffer put on Exit Control List: Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the names of parents of Zahir Jaffer have been placed on the Exit Control List in connection with their involvement in the murder case of Noor Mukadam, daughter of a former diplomat.

Addressing a press conference on today, he said a meeting was held on Monday in which the decision was taken to put Zakir Jaffer (father of killer and Asmat Adamjee, mother), on the ECL list.

Interior Minister said, “The names of the suspects have been placed on the ECL.”

Meanwhile, on Monday, a district and sessions court in Islamabad extended the judicial remand of Zahir’s parents for another 14 days, till August 23.

Interior Minister also said the security arrangements for Muharram were finalised and people have been requested to follow SOPs/guidelines given by the National Command and Operation Centre.

Regarding the investigation into the alleged abduction of the Afghan ambassador’s daughter last month, Rashid reiterated that the interior ministry has provided all footage and record to Kabul’s investigation team through the foreign office.

In reply to a question about the probe into the Dasu bus tragedy, Rashid replied that investigations have been completed and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will brief the media in this regard.
