The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced new guidelines for overseas Pakistanis seeking to update their date of birth on the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
NICOP holders can initiate the age modification process via the Pak ID mobile application, by visiting a local NADRA center, or by approaching the nearest Pakistani embassy in their resident country.
Eligibility and Required Documents
Depending on the extent of the requested change, different sets of documents are required:
- For changes up to 5 years (allowed once):
Acceptable documents include a Pakistani passport, matriculation certificate, mark sheet (issued within the last 3 years), or a service book. - For a second age change (up to 366 days, allowed once):
Required documents include either a Pakistani or foreign passport, a valid residence permit, or a matric certificate. - For a single-year (366-day) change:
Applicants must submit an inland or foreign birth certificate. - For unnatural age differences with a sibling (under 7 months):
A change of up to 1 year (366 days) is allowed without additional documentation.
Fee Structure for Age Modification
NADRA has implemented a tiered fee system based on the magnitude of the age change:

Up to 1 year | $5 |
More than 1 year and up to 2 years | $25 |
More than 2 years and up to 3 years | $40 |
More than 3 years | $65 |
Second-time modification (regardless of range) | $125 |
Note: Fees will be collected in Pakistani Rupees (PKR), with conversion rates applied accordingly.
How to Apply
NICOP holders can submit modification requests through:

- Or the Pakistani embassy in their country of residence.
NADRA ensures a transparent and standardized process for handling all such modifications.
