Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, was recently appointed, and the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has expressed confidence that he will actively engage in ensuring free and fair elections.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with interim Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
At the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that Mohsin Naqvi would carry out his obligations in line with Pakistan’s constitution and congratulated him on being chosen as caretaker CM.
Furthermore, he stated that he will actively assist in ensuring that future elections are free and transparent.
ECP Picks Mohsin Naqvi As Interim CM Punjab
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) picked Mohsin Naqvi as the caretaker chief minister Punjab.
He was the PML-N’s nominee. Naqvi is the owner of a media house and is said to be very close to the PPP leader co-chairman.

New Chief Secretary, CCPO Appointed In Punjab After Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Takes Charge
Soon after interim chief minister Mohsin Naqvi took the oath of office, the chief secretary, CCPO, and senior secretary to the CM were removed.
Abdullah Khan Sumbal has been replaced as Punjab’s chief secretary by Zahid Akhter Zaman.
Sumbal has been returned to the Department of Services and General Administration (S&GA).
