Man Arrested for Smuggling Heroin Hidden in Ihram Clothing at Islamabad Airport

ISLAMABAD: The Airport Security Force (ASF) at Islamabad International Airport apprehended a man for allegedly attempting to smuggle 5.4 kilograms of heroin concealed within Ihram’s clothing. The suspect, who was en route to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah pilgrimage, had hidden the narcotics within Ihram attire, which is plain white clothing worn by Muslims during Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages.

According to ASF, a routine examination of the garments revealed that the accused had saturated three sets of Ihram clothing with a heroin solution. Following the initial investigation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) took custody of the suspect.

Reports suggest that ANF will extract the drugs absorbed by the garments through a chemical process.
