Strict Enforcement Backed by Drone Technology Targets Major Offenses.
According to the report, the campaign led to the registration of 112 criminal cases and the impounding of 1,119 motorcycles and 412 vehicles. The initiative marked a major crackdown on reckless and unlawful driving behavior.
For the first time, drone technology was deployed to monitor traffic and identify offenders. As a result, 48 drivers were fined based on aerial footage capturing their violations.
The ITP issued thousands of fines for a range of offenses, including:
- 923 cases of driving in the wrong direction
- 845 lane violations
- 1,007 motorcyclists without helmets
- 76 drivers without valid licenses
- 11 instances of triple riding
- 23 underage drivers
- 2,766 cases of illegal parking
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider emphasized that the campaign reflects a zero-tolerance policy toward traffic violations. “Strict enforcement will continue without discrimination,” he said. “Our goal is to protect lives and property by ensuring complete adherence to traffic laws.”
He added that modern tools like AI, surveillance cameras, and drones will be increasingly integrated to improve traffic discipline and safety across the city.
The campaign is part of ITP’s broader effort to foster a culture of responsible driving through both awareness and accountability.
