ISLAMABAD : Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has stated that Imran Khan’s sons will be allowed to enter Pakistan if they fulfill all legal requirements, including applying for a visa.
In an interview on private news channel, Sanaullah expressed support for the sons of the PTI founder, noting they have a right to continue their father’s political legacy — just as any other citizen does.
“They are British nationals. If they follow legal procedures, including visa applications, they’ll be allowed entry,” he said.
He emphasized that while visiting their father is within their rights, any political activity must be peaceful. If it turns violent, he warned, the law will take its course.
Rana Doubts Political Role but Supports Family Visit
Sanaullah cast doubt on whether Imran Khan’s sons would engage in active politics but said, “If they come, it will likely be just to meet their father.” He acknowledged that hereditary politics had long been a criticism of others — including the PML-N — and now PTI might follow suit.
Climate Concerns and Praise for CM Maryam Nawaz
Addressing the recent heavy monsoon rains, Sanaullah called for a long-term 5- to 10-year urban planning strategy, especially for flood-prone and low-lying areas.
“Even developed nations struggle with flooding. Our drainage systems must be updated urgently,” he stressed.
He praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for personally monitoring the crisis, and urged the Clean Punjab campaign and WASA to work in close coordination. He added that the NDMA is fully engaged and is working under directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
No Current Talks with PTI, Says Rana
On the political front, Sanaullah said there were no ongoing negotiations between the PML-N and PTI. He recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended offers for dialogue on three separate occasions, but PTI did not respond.
“Even during politically tense times, the PM offered to meet PTI leaders in the Speaker’s chamber. They declined,” he said.
