Govt Warns Pakistanis Against Visiting Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon

Amid escalating tensions and growing security concerns in the Middle East, Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Thursday issued a stringent travel advisory, urging citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon until the regional situation stabilizes.

The move comes as part of the government’s precautionary efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani nationals abroad.

In an official statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that Pakistani citizens should refrain from visiting these countries due to the “evolving security situation in the region.” While the advisory did not point to a specific incident as the catalyst, it referenced the broader climate of instability triggered by ongoing military escalations and heightened geopolitical frictions involving both regional and global actors.

“Pakistani citizens are advised not to travel to Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon until the security situation improves,” the spokesperson said. “Those who are already residing in these countries are strongly advised to remain extremely vigilant, avoid all non-essential movement, and stay in close coordination with the nearest Pakistani embassies.”

The Foreign Office has also taken proactive measures to assist Pakistanis currently living in or visiting these regions by releasing a detailed list of contact numbers for Pakistani diplomatic missions in the four countries.

Citizens are urged to use these helplines for emergency assistance and to keep in constant communication with the embassies to ensure timely support if required.
