The government has announced a three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. In a notification issued on Wednesday, the Cabinet Secretariat confirmed that March 31 to April 2 (Monday to Wednesday) will be observed as public holidays to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, along with regional committees, will meet on Sunday evening, March 30, to sight the Shawwal moon, which marks the potential end of Ramadan. The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorologists, and other experts will discuss reports from across the country to confirm the moon sighting.

In a report released prior to Ramadan, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) predicted that the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is expected to fall on March 31, 2025.
