PESHAWAR: Five people were killed early Sunday morning in a shooting incident in Peshawar’s Badaber area, according to local officials.
The shooting occurred around 2 AM in the Mashokhel area when the accused allegedly opened fire indiscriminately on a vehicle, police said in a statement. The attack is believed to have been motivated by personal enmity.
Authorities are conducting raids to apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.
This incident follows a series of shootings in the region last month, many of which were also driven by personal grudges.
In one such case in Peshawar’s Tehkal area, a shooting between two parties resulted in five deaths and six injuries, with police attributing the violence to personal conflicts.
Additionally, in South Waziristan’s Wana region, two separate incidents fueled by longstanding enmities left three people, including a policeman, dead. In Saidu Sharif’s Gulkada area, a senior lawyer and his brother were shot and killed by unidentified assailants.
In the most recent incident, a 65-year-old Afghan national was shot and killed in Baldia-8 on Wednesday evening.
In a separate case, Saeedabad SHO Idris Bangash reported that Allauddin, who had been reciting the Holy Quran after prayers at a local mosque, was fatally shot after stepping outside to answer a phone call. Two suspects on a motorcycle opened fire and fled the scene. Allauddin was taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was declared dead. Police suspect personal enmity behind this attack as well.
