FIR OF ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON IMRAN KHAN REGISTERED AFTER FOUR DAYS

On Monday, the Punjab police have finally filed a first information report (FIR) about the attempted murder of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, as instructed by the Supreme Court (SC).

Details indicate that 96 hours after the event, a first information report (FIR) was filed at the Wazirabad police station.

According to sources, the case was filed at the City Police Station in Wazirabad for murder, attempted murder, terrorism, and other crimes. According to sources, Naveed, the detained suspect, was named in the FIR.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan was shot earlier in the day, and the Supreme Court (SC) directed that an FIR of the shooting be filed within 24 hours.

The five-member SC bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial, issued the directions as it heard the contempt case against the former prime minister.

CJP Bandial questioned IGP Punjab about the amount of time needed to submit the incident’s FIR during the hearing. Tell me when the attack’s FIR will be filed, please.

The SC will ensure the efficient operation of the criminal justice system, the CJP noted, noting that the delay in filing FIRs results in the loss of evidence.
