Faiz Hameed’s Leaked Calls: Former ISI Chief’s Threats to Absar Alam Revealed

Leaked Audio: Former ISI Chief Pressures Absar Alam for Favors

A leaked audio recording has emerged featuring a conversation between former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lt. Gen. (R) Faiz Hameed and former Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman Absar Alam.

In the recording, Faiz Hameed is heard pressuring Alam to grant favors, specifically regarding the resolution of licensing issues for two old channels. Hameed questions why Alam has not given the matter sufficient attention, to which Alam responds that he is willing to cooperate.

The tone of the conversation shifts when Hameed mentions that Brigadier Ghaffar will follow up on the issue, catching Alam off guard. Alam expresses surprise at this request, noting that Hameed had never made such demands before. Hameed insists that they have made numerous requests in the past and urges Alam to address the matter directly, adding that Brigadier Ghaffar will be in touch to provide further details.
