Entry and exit points in Lahore blocked due to protests in Islamabad

Traffic congestion on GT Road has intensified the situation further.

In response to ongoing protests in Islamabad, authorities have imposed significant restrictions on the routes leading into Lahore.

Key access points, such as the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway (M11) and Thokar Niaz Beg Interchange, have been blocked with containers, causing major disruptions for travelers.

As residents attempt to reach Islamabad, they are facing severe challenges. A heavy police presence, including water cannons and prisoner transport vans, has been deployed to maintain order in the affected areas.

Traffic congestion on GT Road has further worsened the situation, leaving many commuters frustrated and delayed. At the Thokar Niaz Beg interchange, vehicles are not being allowed to enter the motorway, and similar restrictions are enforced on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway. The Babu Sabu interchange has also seen the deployment of water cannons, containers, and additional police forces to manage the situation.

Authorities are advising travelers to plan their routes carefully and stay informed about the evolving circumstances.
