The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) convened a crucial meeting, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, but could not reach a conclusion on the Supreme Court’s directive regarding 41 reserved seats for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The four-hour meeting centered on implementing the Supreme Court’s order, which mandates that independent members join PTI to allocate the reserved seats. Despite extensive discussions involving ECP members, legal experts, and officials, no decision was made.
The ECP has decided to seek further consultations with legal experts and will reconvene tomorrow to continue its deliberations.
