Dubai-based Pakistani to get Hilal-e-Imtiaz for exposing Toshakhana scam of Imran Khan

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for Umar Farooq, the whistleblower who exposed the Toshakhana case. Farooq, an overseas Pakistani, was instrumental in revealing the controversy involving former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the alleged misuse of state gifts.

Farooq is one of 104 individuals, both Pakistani and foreign, who will be honored with civil awards in recognition of their contributions next year.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on March 23, 2025, celebrating achievements in public service, bravery, and distinguished services in various fields.

President Zardari approved national honors for 104 distinguished individuals, including both Pakistanis and foreign nationals, in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the nation.

These awards will be presented during a special ceremony on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2025.

Notable Honorees:

Nishan-e-Pakistan

  • The late Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (posthumously) for his significant contributions to public service.

Sitara-e-Shujaat

  • Panjgur Deputy Commissioner Zakir Hussain Baloch (posthumously).
  • Malik Sabz Ali and Captain (retd) Hamza Anjum (posthumously).

Sitara-e-Pakistan

  • Dr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasbi and Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawaha.

Hilal-e-Imtiaz

  • Olympian Arshad Nadeem for achievements in sports.
  • Amir Hafeez Ibrahim in the field of science and technology.
  • Sadia Rasheed for contributions to education.
  • Prof. Dr. Shehryar and Dr. Zaryab Setna in medicine.
  • Javed Jabbar for literature.
  • Khawaja Anwar Majeed and Hussain Dawood.
  • Capt (retd) Khurram Agha, Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Shah, and Umar Farooq.

  • Saudi Arabia’s Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman Al Saud for his services to Pakistan.

  • Foo Chi Hung and Muhammad Saif Al Suwaidi.

Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam

  • Heydar Gurbanov and Dr. Christine Schmutzer.

Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam

  • Chang Bao Chung and Shin Min Liu.

Hilal-e-Shujaat
