RAWALPINDI: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), chaired the 82nd Formation Commanders Conference at GHQ, attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army.
As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices of Shuhadas, including officers and personnel of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Pakistani citizens.
The participants were briefed on professional matters, national security challenges, and measures taken to address traditional and non-traditional security threats.
The conference took a comprehensive view of the ongoing counter-terrorism operations, emphasizing that all terrorists, facilitators, and abettors working on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan would face the full might of the state.
COAS expressed contentment over the operational preparedness and high standards of training and morale maintained by formations to address the evolving threat paradigm.
The conference extended unequivocal diplomatic, moral, and political support to the people of Palestine. It reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance favoring a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as the capital of Palestine.
Participants voiced concerns over the sustained repression of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and condemned human rights violations by Indian forces. The forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Kashmiris politically, diplomatically, and morally, emphasizing the need for the right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions.
The conference pledged full support for the government’s initiatives to ensure the sustainable recovery of the economy and combat illegal activities such as smuggling, hoarding, and electricity theft, and the implementation of the One Document Regime. It also highlighted the dignified repatriation of illegal foreigners and safeguarding the national database.
Despite challenges, the forum acknowledged a growing sense of stability, certainty, and optimism across Pakistan in recent months. It resolved to thwart efforts aimed at instigating despondency through perseverance and positive actions, with the support of the people of Pakistan.
Participants affirmed that the Pakistan Army would continue to defend and serve the nation in every possible way, contributing to enduring stability and security. The forum urged the resilient people of Pakistan to remain determined and united, expressing confidence in a brighter future, InshaAllah.
