ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dry weather for various regions of the country on Friday (today).
According to the PMD’s daily forecast, continental air is prevailing over most parts of Pakistan.
However, temperatures are expected to gradually rise in the plains starting March 21, with above-normal daytime temperatures likely on Saturday. The dry spell is expected to continue on Sunday, with warm conditions persisting in the plains.
Rainfall in the Past 24 Hours
The PMD also reported the following rainfall measurements (in mm) across different regions:
Kashmir
- Rawalakot – 15 mm
- Muzaffarabad – 4 mm (airport), 3 mm (city)
- Garhi Dupatta – 2 mm
Punjab
- Islamabad – 13 mm (Saidpur), 7 mm (city), 5 mm (Golra), 2 mm (Bokra)
- Murree – 11 mm
- Rawalpindi – 4 mm (Shamsabad), 3 mm (Chaklala), 2 mm (Katcheri), 2 mm (Jhelum)
Gilgit-Baltistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- Bagrote (GB) – 3 mm
- Kakul (KP) – 2 mm
Balochistan
- Barkhan – 1 mm
With rising temperatures and dry conditions ahead, the PMD advises residents, particularly in plain areas, to take precautions against the heat.
