ISLAMABAD – A high-level Chinese defence delegation, led by Lieutenant General Wang Gang, Chief of Staff of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), at Air Headquarters on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in airpower and operational coordination.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu welcomed the delegation, highlighting the historic and time-tested ties between Pakistan and China, built on mutual trust, strategic alignment, and shared aspirations for regional peace and stability.
The visiting Chinese delegation was briefed in detail on the PAF’s evolving force structure, strategic initiatives, and its modern operational doctrine. The Air Chief reaffirmed PAF’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration with the PLA Air Force, particularly in the areas of training, technology, and joint operational planning.
General Wang Gang expressed strong admiration for the operational readiness and advanced capabilities of the PAF, particularly its seamless execution of Multi-Domain Operations, which he described as a model for modern air warfare. He also conveyed PLA Air Force’s keen interest in learning from Pakistan’s real-world operational experience.
Praising the PAF’s professionalism and strategic vision, General Wang lauded the force’s “decisive and measured response” during its recent conflict with India. He hailed the performance of Pakistani pilots under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Sidhu as a “textbook example of precision, discipline, and courage” in the face of unprovoked aggression.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to further advancing their strategic partnership through deeper defence cooperation and innovation-driven collaboration between their air forces.
