In the Balochistan districts affected by the flooding, the prevalence of the vector-borne disease malaria is rapidly rising.
According to reports, 3,131 cases of malaria have been reported in five Balochistan flood-affected districts, including Suhbatpur, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, and Dera Bugti.
According to the data, Balochistan’s aforementioned districts have had a total of 37,224 cases of malaria during the past 14 days. 49 percent of people in the province are currently positive for the vector-borne disease.
There are 6,237 children under the age of five and 31,223 cases involving adults over the age of five in Balochistan out of a total of 37,224 cases, according to the sources.
Separately, sources claim that up to 12 flood-affected districts have been deemed “susceptible” to malaria.
In the wake of the Malaria illness epidemic, sources claim Khairpur, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Qambar, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Larkana, Shikarpur, and Dadu are sensitive.
