The Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be suspended from October 14 to 17 to accommodate the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting, district authorities have announced.

Taking place on October 15 and 16 in Islamabad, the SCO meeting will welcome Prime Ministers and high-level representatives from various nations.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed that leaders from SCO member states, including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, will be in attendance. Iran’s First Vice President and India’s Foreign Minister are also expected to participate.

During the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is anticipated to hold bilateral meetings with the heads of delegations, discussing vital topics such as the economy, trade, environment, and cultural and social connections.
