RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the Army’s unwavering commitment to meeting the expectations of the nation during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet members.
According to a statement from the military’s media wing, General Munir emphasized that the Army stands ready to firmly support the government in addressing the security challenges confronting Pakistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was accorded a warm reception by COAS Munir, who also oversaw a guard of honour. The prime minister paid homage to the martyrs by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

During discussions on national security, regional stability, and military preparedness, the PM and cabinet members were briefed by military leadership. The briefing encompassed the security environment, threat analysis, responses to security threats, and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
In acknowledgment of the Pakistan Army’s professionalism, operational readiness, and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, PM Shehbaz and his cabinet members lauded the dedication of the armed forces to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace and stability.
PM Shehbaz assured the government’s commitment to providing all necessary resources for ensuring the operational readiness of the armed forces. He emphasized that Pakistan is destined for progress, underscoring the pivotal role of the Armed Forces in facilitating the nation’s peaceful rise.
Expressing gratitude for the visit and the government’s confidence in the Army, General Munir thanked the PM. The statement concluded with both civilian and military leadership reiterating their dedication to upholding national interests and collaborating towards a prosperous and secure Pakistan.
