A Cop Martyred
PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Unidentified armed men targeted a police mobile in Badaber, Peshawar, martyring one cop and injuring two others.
The attackers targeted police early Monday morning in the latest attack Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
The province has witnessed a series of terror incidents in recent months. The is an outcome of the end of the ceasefire between the TTP and Islamabad.

During the attack on the police van, Constable Yar Muhammad and two other policemen sustained critical injuries. Despite receiving treatment, Yar Muhammad succumbed to his wounds.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a span of 48 hours, KP saw at least four terror attacks. It included one in the capital city of Peshawar, resulting in the martyrdom of law enforcers and injuries to others.
A week later, militants attacked law enforcers at a check-post. Thankfully, no casualties occurred in this terror attack.
Meanwhile, the police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel promptly responded with counteraction, forcing the attacker to flee.
July marked a significant increase in terrorist activities in Pakistan, making it the second deadliest month of 2023, with 124 fatalities and 218 injuries.
The previous month also recorded the highest number of suicide attacks in a single month in 2023. It resulted in the tragic death of 69 people and injuries to 175 others. The majority of these casualties occurred during a suicide blast at a JUI-F election rally in the Bajaur district of KP.
Amid the rising militancy, the Pakistani government has issued warnings to Afghanistan against providing safe havens to the banned TTP. The government believes that the TTP targets security forces.
The Pakistan Army’s top brass has recently expressed concerns about the sanctuaries and freedom of action available to terrorists of proscribed TTP and other groups in Afghanistan, which significantly impacts Pakistan’s security.
