ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met senior British Home Office officials in London and pressed for the extradition of individuals wanted in Pakistan. He presented a comprehensive dossier to support the request. Officials said the documents included evidence gathered through recent investigations. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Mohammad Faisal, also attended the meeting.
Focus on Strengthening Cooperation
Earlier, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met Naqvi to review Pak-UK relations. They discussed security cooperation and the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the UK. The discussion also highlighted Pakistan’s demand for the swift extradition of Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja. Both sides then agreed to improve coordination on legal matters.
Evidence Shared With British Officials
Moreover, Naqvi told the British envoy that Pakistan has formally submitted its request for the extradition of the two men. He said both individuals face multiple charges and continue to engage in activities that require urgent legal action. He added that they have circulated misinformation abroad. Pakistan also shared what it describes as solid evidence to support its case.
