Interior Minister Targets Criminal Networks
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to launch a strict crackdown on beggar rings, illegal immigration networks, and their patrons. He stressed that no activity should tarnish Pakistanโs name.
The order comes after a thorough review of ongoing operations by the FIA Immigration Wing. Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to assess government efforts against human trafficking, illegal migration, and organized begging syndicates.
Senior officials, including the Federal Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary Interior, and DG FIA, attended the meeting. They discussed strategies to disrupt mafia operations that exploit vulnerable populations and facilitate illegal migration.
Naqvi instructed law enforcement agencies to continue indiscriminate actions against criminal networks. He warned that no concessions would be granted to those involved in human trafficking or illegal immigration.
Strengthening Immigration Controls
The minister highlighted the need for stronger immigration checks across the country. He called for enhanced screening of travel documents at airports and border points.
โNo form of denigration can be allowed in the name of Pakistan,โ Naqvi said. He urged authorities to maintain vigilance and act with efficiency.
The interior minister emphasized that immigration laws must be strictly enforced. He called for proactive monitoring of suspicious activities and swift action against individuals or groups facilitating illegal movement of people.
Continuous Campaigns Against Organized Crime
During the meeting, officials reviewed the FIAโs ongoing operations targeting organized crime syndicates. Special focus was placed on beggar mafias, who exploit children and vulnerable adults to collect money in cities.
Naqvi stressed that campaigns against these criminal networks should be consistent and sustained. He urged authorities to ensure that operations remain effective and continuous, leaving no room for impunity.
The ministerโs instructions aim to protect Pakistanโs image and strengthen the rule of law. Authorities were also directed to improve coordination between federal and provincial agencies to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking efficiently.
Naqviโs decision reflects the governmentโs commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order. The crackdown is expected to send a strong message that criminal networks exploiting people for profit will not be tolerated.
