Namaz-e-Istisqa is scheduled to take place in Pakistan on January 26 due to the limited rainfall experienced in the ongoing winter season, as announced by Chairman Ulema Council Maulana Tahir Ashrafi in a press conference on Monday.
Emphasizing the scarcity of rains, he expressed concerns about a potential drought if precipitation does not occur soon.
Maulana Tahir Ashrafi highlighted that Namaz-e-Istisqa is a prayer specifically performed to beseech almighty God for rain during periods of drought and low rainfall. Additionally, he underscored the significance of seeking forgiveness through these prayers.
During the press conference, Maulana Ashrafi commended the interim government and military leadership’s decision to respond to Iran’s strikes, asserting that Pakistan possesses a robust defensive system capable of withstanding any challenges. He affirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to maintaining its integrity, stating, “We will not compromise on the security of our country.“
Ambassadors Of Pakistan And Iran Are Resuming Their Duty By 26th Of January As Both Countries Normalize Ties
Meanwhile, Pakistan and Iran have reached a mutual agreement for the return of ambassadors to their respective posts by January 26, 2024.
In a joint statement released on Monday, the Foreign Office announced that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian will visit Pakistan on January 29 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.
Earlier, on January 17, Pakistan withdrew its ambassador from Iran, expressing dissatisfaction over what it termed a “blatant breach” of sovereignty after Iran conducted missile attacks on militant bases in southwestern Pakistan.
Subsequently, on January 18, Pakistan retaliated by launching strikes on terrorist hideouts inside Iran, targeting organizations such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in an operation named “Marg Bar Sarmachar.”
These tit-for-tat strikes marked significant cross-border intrusions, causing concern about broader instability in the Middle East, particularly amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas that began on October 7.
