ISLAMABAD: As tension between Pakistan and India remains high, authorities have intensified their crackdown on hate-driven content targeting the military and the state on social media.
The National Cyber Crimes Agency has arrested Hina Rehman Sheikh, a senior official at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), for creating a WhatsApp group used to circulate anti-military material.
According to the agency, Hina Sheikh was posted at NADRA’s Abbott Road office in Lahore.
A cybercrime team, including two female officers, conducted a raid at the office and apprehended the suspect.
Officials confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. More developments are expected as the inquiry progresses.
The cyber agency emphasized that such activities will not be tolerated, especially during a time of heightened national security concerns.
