NADRA offices to issue Passports from June 10: PM Shehbaz likely to inaugurate this facility
ISLAMABAD: The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) will start issuing passports from the 10th of June.

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is expected to launch the issuance of passports from NADRA on June 10th.

NADRA has issued a notification to inform the general public about the issuance of passports at its centers in the country.
Earlier, in March this year Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to establish passport counters at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) centers in the country to facilitate the growing number of applicants.
The Premier ordered NADRA and the Directorate-General of Immigration and Passports to share their resources to expedite the passports issuance at NADRA centers.
Prime Minister took the decision after observing a massive increase in the demand of new passports.
Pending Passports and rush of applicants
Meanwhile, the officials were facing problems in issuing passports on time because of a rush of the applicants.
In May this year, the number of pending passports had increased to more than 500,000. This was in addition to monthly increase in the applicants seeking passports.
900,000 Pakistan left the country for overseas jobs in 2021-22
In 2021-22, more than 900,000 people have left Pakistan to settle abroad amid deepening political and economic crises in the country.
Importantly, many countries in the world are hiring overseas workers after removing the COVID-19 restrictions. Resultantly, the demand of overseas workers has increased from Pakistan in recent months.
Many countries such as Japan, South Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada are seeking Pakistani workers.
Therefore, to meet a growing demand of overseas workers, the government has paced up the process of issue passports to the citizens as early as possible.

Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information. I was really worried about the long queues in the Passboard office.
