Online ‘Proof of Life’ to Help Pensioners with Biometric Issues
NADRA has introduced a new digital feature to assist pensioners struggling with fingerprint verification. The ‘Proof of Life’ service, available via the Pak Identity mobile app, will allow senior citizens to verify their identity online without visiting physical offices.
This feature is especially useful for elderly pensioners who often face difficulties in biometric authentication due to age-related issues. According to NADRA Director of Media Syed Shabahat Ali, this new digital solution is designed to be a long-term fix that makes the process smoother and more accessible for Pakistan’s ageing population.
Karachi to See More Registration Counters by Fiscal Year-End
In addition to digital upgrades, NADRA plans to increase registration counters in Karachi from the current 359 to 550 by the end of the current fiscal year.
This expansion aims to ease overcrowding, reduce wait times, and improve overall service delivery. The existing counters are already functional at several mega centres and National Registration Centres (NRCs) across the city.
The new counters will be strategically placed to ensure that residents across Karachi have easier access to NADRA services, including ID registration, updates, and pension verification.
These initiatives reflect NADRA’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and citizen convenience, especially for the country’s growing elderly population.
