Unanimous Resolution
ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan on Friday unanimously passed a strong resolution condemning the unprovoked and illegitimate aggression carried out by Israel against the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran. The resolution, tabled by Pakistan Peoples Party senior leader Syed Naveed Qamar, was adopted with full consensus, reflecting the Parliament’s united stance against the violation of international law and regional peace.
The House expressed deep sorrow and concern over the Israeli strikes launched in the early hours of June 13, 2025, which led to significant loss of lives and damage to property in Iran.
The resolution termed the attack a blatant breach of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning that it posed a grave threat not only to regional stability in the Middle East but also to global peace and security.
“This House notes with utter disgust and dismay that the strikes carried in the dark hours of June 13, 2025, are a serious violation of the sovereignty and integrity of a United Nations Member State,” the resolution read. “Such acts clearly contravene the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”
The National Assembly held Israel entirely responsible for the consequences of these continued aggressive actions, which, according to the resolution, have dangerously escalated tensions in the region. The House further emphasized that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran holds the inherent right to self-defense against such aggression.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran, the resolution stated, “This House reiterates that Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the Government, Parliament, and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We extend our heartfelt prayers for the innocent lives lost in this unjust attack.”
Furthermore, the House urged the Government of Pakistan to take immediate diplomatic action by calling for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The objective of this initiative would be to internationally condemn the Israeli aggression, discuss measures to restore peace, and demand an immediate end to the hostilities targeting Iran.
The unanimous passage of this resolution underscores Pakistan’s principled stance on upholding international law, defending the sovereignty of nations, and promoting peace and stability across the region.
