Sahir Hasan, one of the suspects in the Mustafa murder case, has been using drugs since he was eight years old, according to SSP Investigation Shoaib Memon. Speaking on private news channel, Memon revealed that Sahir’s family also used drugs, and he began cultivating marijuana at the age of 14.
“Sahir received drugs from Basel and Yahya in Islamabad,” Memon stated, adding that Sahir was among four people arrested on February 22 during raids targeting drug sales and use.
Sahir was later sent to police custody for a one-day physical remand on February 23 in connection with the Mustafa murder case. During the hearing, the investigating officer revealed that over 500 grams of drugs were found in Sahir’s possession. He allegedly confessed to supplying drugs for the past two years. Authorities reported that Sahir was found with foreign-branded drugs and had been involved in drug trafficking, creating a stir in various sectors, including the business community, bureaucracy, and entertainment industry.
Last month, the court denied a request to extend his physical remand and instead sent him to jail on judicial remand after his remand period ended.
In a separate operation, two more suspects were arrested, Memon announced. These suspects, who were involved in the cocaine trade, allegedly brought the drugs from Lahore. Police recovered 80 grams of cocaine from the suspects, who were reportedly selling it in one-gram packets at dance parties in DHA Clifton. The suspects bought 100 grams of cocaine for Rs1 million in Lahore and sold it for Rs2 million in Karachi, Memon said.
So far, three arrests have been made, and no political connections have been found. Investigations are ongoing into those who purchased cocaine from the suspects. Memon noted that some individuals used cocaine, while others acted as “sub-distributors.” He added that the main target was the distributor, as one key link in the drug chain was still missing. Further investigation is expected to clarify the role of a “transport link from California to Islamabad.”
Memon also explained that Sahir, influenced by his family, started using drugs at an early age and cultivated marijuana by the age of 14. When questioned about the involvement of prominent individuals at parties at Armaghan’s house, Memon stated that the inquiry was outside their jurisdiction but confirmed that they were looking into Sahir’s father’s potential role in the drug supply network.
