Muslim leaders have formally requested the International Criminal Court to investigate Israel for alleged war crimes against Palestinians. They have designated the general secretaries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to oversee the probe’s implementation.

A resolution from a Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Israeli aggression against Palestinians urges the ICC prosecutor to conclude the investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Al-Quds.
During an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit in Riyadh, leaders merged two planned summits of the OIC and the Arab League. Participants called for an end to the Gaza siege, rejected labeling Israel’s actions as “self-defense,” and condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza.
To document Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the leaders established two legal monitoring units. These units will compile evidence of violations of international law and humanitarian law, preparing legal proceedings against Israel. Reports from each unit are to be submitted to the Arab League Council and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers within 15 days of formation.
The resolution criticizes perceived double standards in applying international law, warning that such inconsistency undermines the credibility of nations protecting Israel from legal accountability. It emphasizes that these double standards could create divisions between civilizations and cultures, impacting the positions of Arab and Islamic countries.
No plan to privatize any state-owned unit until elections, IMF told
Sources revealed on Sunday that the government has informed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that the privatization of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) is unlikely to be concluded before the upcoming general elections.
Ongoing technical discussions between the government and the IMF delegation have already covered topics such as tax collection, and the matter of SOE privatization was also addressed in recent talks. The government assured the IMF that it is actively working on advancing the privatization process.
