ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has advocated for the adoption of spider cam technology to enhance the visibility of the coin toss result.
In a recent appearance on a private television program, the former Pakistan T20I captain revealed that during his tenure as the national team’s captain for the ICC World T20 in 2012, he had proposed using spider cam technology to clearly display the toss result.

Hafeez emphasized the challenge of the toss result coin moving five to ten meters away when flipped conventionally. He stressed his intention to eliminate any doubts regarding the toss’s credibility. He added, “By displaying the toss result using spider cam technology, absolute clarity can be provided to everyone, including the fans.”
Hafeez believes that the utilization of spider cam technology for the toss could ensure that both the players and the audience have a crystal-clear view of whether it is heads or tails.
Seeking A Path To Remove Establishment From Politics Through Dialogue
Meanwhile, Khawaja Asif, speaking with Asma Shirazi on Faisla Aap Ka, stated, โIt is possible in the future. We have to sit together to settle this matter, as Nawaz Sharif said in his address.โ
However, he expressed doubts about the success of such dialogue, given the differing stances of political parties. Asif suggested that after the elections, when each party understands its worth, a dialogue should be initiated.
The PML-N leader also called on the judiciary to disengage from politics, citing an โoverdose of politicsโ in the judicial system. He criticized decisions made in the past six or seven years, asserting that they were influenced by politics rather than adhering to the Constitution. He contended that the judiciary was among those responsible for Pakistanโs problems.
Regarding the Supreme Courtโs verdict on civiliansโ trials in military courts, Asif argued that it lacked genuine soul-searching on the part of the judiciary.
