Mobile Internet Blackout Enters 4th Day as PTA Awaits Instructions:
The government did not give any instructions to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Friday to resume mobile internet services.
Imran Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had incited rallies on May 9 that led to the PTA blocking mobile broadband services nationwide.
In Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, PTI supporters turned violent and attacked military and governmental structures.
In addition to taking this action to quell the commotion, the authorities have also restricted access to popular social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

The PTA said today that mobile internet services will continue to be suspended nationwide until further notice.

According to the telecom regulator, consumers may get broadband internet service.
The Ministry of the Interior ordered to put mobile internet services on hold, and the regulator had not received any further instructions from the authorities regarding this matter.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated on Thursday that he hoped mobile internet connections would go back online in the following 36 hours.
