Civilian Death in Nahariya
A missile fired from Lebanon killed a man in northern Israel on Thursday morning. Israelโs emergency service Magen David Adom reported that the victim was around 30 years old. Another man, approximately 50, sustained serious injuries. Three more people suffered shrapnel and blast wounds.
This attack follows weeks of rocket fire by Hezbollah, which joined the Middle East conflict on March 2. Earlier on Thursday, an Israeli soldier also died during fighting in southern Lebanon. Since February 28, Israel has lost three soldiers as ground operations intensified in the region.
Nationwide Missile Alerts Trigger Chaos
Meanwhile, Iran launched multiple missiles into Israel, prompting air raid sirens across the country. The Israeli military intercepted most projectiles. However, shrapnel injured seven civilians.
The military detected nine waves of incoming missiles during the day. Consequently, sirens sounded in central Israel, Jerusalem, Haifa, and parts of the occupied West Bank. Defense systems remained active to stop new threats. AFP journalists in Tel Aviv reported hearing several explosions. Footage showed a residential building hit by debris from an intercepted missile. Apartments were damaged, and metal fragments littered the streets. Emergency teams rushed to assist residents.
Damage in Kafr Qassem
In the central city of Kafr Qassem, cluster munitions damaged multiple houses. Mayor Haitham Taha confirmed six people were injured. Another person was wounded in Tel Aviv. AFP footage showed a large crater at the impact site in Kafr Qassem. Several cars overturned due to the blast. Authorities urged residents to remain alert as missile attacks continued.
Rising Tensions and Civilian Risks
The escalation in northern Israel and southern Lebanon has raised fears of broader regional instability. Civilians remain at risk, and emergency teams continue monitoring missile trajectories. Authorities encouraged people to follow safety instructions. Analysts warn that continued attacks by Hezbollah and Iran could worsen the conflict, causing more casualties.
The situation remains volatile. Meanwhile, local officials and international observers are calling for restraint to prevent further civilian harm. The ongoing attacks highlight the dangers of the regional conflict and the urgent need for diplomatic intervention.
