Federal officers killed two US citizens in Minneapolis this month during clashes linked to immigration enforcement operations. One victim was ICU nurse Alex Pretti, who was shot during protests over the federal crackdown. Previously, Renee Good was killed earlier this month under similar circumstances.
Consequently, Democratic leaders intensified their opposition to the administration’s approach. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer announced plans to block funding tied to immigration enforcement agencies. He urged bipartisan reforms to protect civilians and restore public trust.
