Social media video highlights civilian impact and personal grief
BEIRUT: Mia Khalifa became visibly emotional after reports emerged of a large-scale Israeli missile attack on Lebanon, described by observers as one of the most intense escalations in recent times.
In a video message shared on social media, Khalifa said the development marked one of the most painful moments of her life. She claimed that despite an existing ceasefire, approximately 160 strikes hit multiple locations within a ten-minute span. Furthermore, she alleged that the bombardment targeted hospitals, schools, residential areas, and even cemeteries.
She also revealed that a hospital in Beirut, where she was born, was completely destroyed during the reported strikes. As a result, she expressed deep anguish over the situation, struggling to articulate the emotional toll of the devastation in her ancestral homeland.
Criticism of attacks and questions over US support
Meanwhile, Khalifa strongly criticized the reported targeting of civilian infrastructure, describing the attacks as โmadnessโ and a โbarbaric act.โ In addition, she questioned United States support for Israel, saying she found it difficult to accept that her tax contributions could be linked to the destruction in Lebanon.
โI cannot stay silent on what is happening in Lebanon,โ she said, becoming tearful as she spoke about the crisis. Moreover, she emphasized the humanitarian impact of the strikes and called for greater awareness.
Khalifa, a US citizen of Lebanese origin, previously worked in the adult film industry but has since transitioned into social media influencing. She now regularly shares content on lifestyle, food, and political issues.
