MG Enters Pakistanโs Pickup Market with Feature-Packed U9
MG has officially stepped into Pakistanโs diesel pickup segment with the unveiling of the all-new U9 at the Pakistan Auto Show in Karachi. The reveal marks the brandโs first entry into the local pickup category, setting the stage for fresh competition among long-time market leaders. Just a day after the public debut, MG announced that bookings for the U9 are now open, though specific delivery timelines remain undisclosed.
The U9 arrives equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine previously offered in Australia, making Pakistan only the second market to receive this powertrain. With this launch, MG is positioning the U9 directly against established rivals such as the Toyota Revo and the ISUZU D-Maxโboth popular choices among off-road and utility vehicle enthusiasts.
Engineered for versatility, the U9 boasts a 4ร4 drivetrain, front and rear differential locks, a robust towing capacity of 3,500 kg, and a ground clearance of 220 mm. Its ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission delivers an impressive 215 hp and 520 Nm of torque, ensuring strong performance whether navigating city roads or tackling rugged terrain.
Premium Comfort and Tech-Focused Interior Set U9 Apart
MG has packed the U9โs cabin with comfort-oriented and tech-forward amenities designed to enhance the driving experience. The driverโs seat features 8-way electric adjustment, 4-way lumbar support, and heating, ventilation, and massage functionsโrare offerings in the pickup segment. The front passenger seat also includes 6-way power adjustment along with seat heating.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Additional features include a JBL 8-speaker sound system, rear AC vents, an electric tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof, giving the U9 an edge in comfort and convenience.
Pre-booking amount
MG has set the pre-booking amount at Rs. 8,000,000, confirming that the official launch of the U9 will take place in January next year.
