The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that much of the country can expect partly cloudy conditions over the next 24 hours. However, several regions—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Balochistan, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit‑Baltistan—should brace for thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and scattered rainfall.
Forecasters warn that powerful gusts may damage vulnerable structures, urging local authorities and residents to take preventive measures.
In contrast, southern Pakistan remains gripped by an intense heatwave, especially across Sindh. Although temperatures have dipped slightly, the PMD cautions that hot, dry weather will persist for now.
Expected Maximum Temperatures
- Islamabad: 37 °C
- Quetta: 36 °C
- Lahore: 44 °C
- Peshawar: 41 °C
- Karachi: 39 °C
- Muzaffarabad: 38 °C
- Gilgit: 34 °C
The PMD advises the public to limit outdoor activities during peak heat, stay well‑hydrated, and adhere to recommended safety guidelines.
