The University of Health Sciences has released the first MBBS selection list for private medical colleges across Punjab. This announcement marks a key step in the 2025 admission cycle. Thousands of aspiring medical students are now assessing their chances based on published merit cut-offs.
Overall Merit Trends in First Selection List
According to official data, the lowest closing merit in the first list stood at 75.9465 percent. Meanwhile, the highest closing merit was recorded at Al Aleem Medical College, Lahore, at 92.7136 percent. This wide range reflects varying competition levels among private institutions.
Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore followed closely with a closing merit of 91.6586 percent. Shalamar Medical and Dental College, Lahore recorded 90.6364 percent. FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore closed at 90.1348 percent. These figures show strong demand for established colleges in major cities.
Mid-Range Merit Colleges Across Punjab
Lahore Medical and Dental College recorded a merit of 88.6924 percent. Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College closed at 88.0869 percent in Rawalpindi. Its Lahore campus followed with 87.9848 percent. Rashid Latif Medical College closed at 86.2929 percent.
Rehbar Medical and Dental College and Continental Medical College in Lahore closed at 85.9455 percent and 85.3313 percent respectively. Watim Medical College, Rawalpindi recorded 85.2717 percent. These colleges attracted candidates with competitive but moderate merit scores.
Colleges With Lower Closing Merit
Several institutions recorded closing merits in the lower eighties range. Sialkot Medical College closed at 83.6111 percent. University College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lahore followed at 83.596 percent. Central Park Medical College closed at 83.501 percent.
Aziz Fatima Medical College, Faisalabad recorded 83.1465 percent. Avicenna Medical College, Lahore closed at 82.6343 percent. Bakhtawar Amin Medical College, Multan stood at 82.2424 percent. RLKU Medical College closed at 82.1768 percent.
The lowest closing merit of 75.9465 percent was recorded at Queens Medical College for Women, Kasur. Sahara Medical College, Narowal closed at 77.797 percent. These figures indicate opportunities for candidates with comparatively lower scores.
Seats, Fees, and Admission Deadlines
A total of 4,350 MBBS seats are available across 33 private medical colleges in Punjab. Selected candidates must deposit their admission fee by December 30. The initial fee challan of Rs600,000 can be downloaded from the official admission portal.
Candidates may also submit consent for upgradation or stay through the same portal. Those opting for upgradation must upload the paid fee receipt online. Meanwhile, candidates choosing their first preference must complete joining formalities at their respective colleges.
The second MBBS selection list is scheduled for release on January 1. Students are advised to follow instructions carefully to avoid disqualification.
