LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday digitally inaugurated Punjabโs first Community Health Inspectors Program during a large-scale ceremony held at the Punjab Hockey Stadium, marking a major step toward strengthening community-level healthcare services across the province.
The ceremony was attended by around 55,000 Community Health Inspectors from all districts of Punjab, who expressed visible enthusiasm upon the chief ministerโs arrival. Maryam Nawaz took a lengthy walk along the stadium track, personally welcoming participants from each district and encouraging them by stopping at every enclosure. She also paused to take a photograph with a young girl holding a portrait of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, drawing applause from the crowd.
Grand ceremony and public response
As the chief minister acknowledged slogans by waving to the participants, a contingent of Community Health Inspectors saluted her and marched behind a band performing national songs. Meanwhile, a colorful fireworks display lit up the sky moments before her address, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the event.
Additionally, organizers screened a documentary highlighting the objectives and scope of the Community Health Inspectors Program, outlining its role in improving preventive healthcare and outreach services at the grassroots level.

Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare Khawaja Imran Nazir delivered an energetic speech, praising Maryam Nawaz Sharifโs leadership. He stated that her performance as chief minister could not be compared with that of any previous provincial leader, emphasizing her focus on public welfare and health sector reforms.
In her address, Maryam Nawaz congratulated the provincial health minister, the health secretary, and their entire team for launching the program. Throughout her speech, the stadium resonated with applause as Community Health Inspectors welcomed guests by illuminating the venue with their mobile phone lights, creating a symbolic display of unity and commitment to public health.
